5 days? 3 days? 10 days?

So here we are. May 11. 5 days until Baby L's due date. Mike and I are very excited, very anxious, and very impatient! We'd like baby to be here now. I'm hoping he/she isn't going to be ornery and go past our due date. That would be torture.

People keep asking if I'm ready...if we're ready. I say yes. Yes, we are ready...the house is ready, the nursery is ready, the car is ready, bags are packed, there's extra food in the freezer and in the fridge. Yes, we're ready, though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous. I think it's the fact that even after the classes and the reading and the stories of others, neither of us know exactly what to expect. But we are ready to meet our baby...our little person who is going to flip our world upside down.

We've got three names for a boy and three names for a girl picked out. We're going to wait until we meet him/her to make a final decision...and everyone else has to wait until then, too! I'm scheduled to work through Friday, and will do so unless Baby L makes an early appearance.

So yes, 5 days. Or maybe 3. Or maybe 10. Regardless, stay tuned, as I have a feeling next time I check in, I'll have an incredible story to share and will be introducing the newest member of our family.

I am so excited for you and Mike! You both are going be amazing parents! ... And yay natural childbirth! Way to go with regards to at least trying! It completely depends on what happens, so don't be disappointed if it doesn't work out, but way to go with trying. :)

Here's Auggie's birth story for reference - I hope you find it encouraging: http://vlohmann.blogspot.com/2009/02/augustins-birth-story.html

Also, keep in mind that you will see the light of day again and life will become normal again - just normal better with your little cutie pie. :) Awww, so excited for you guys!!!!!

xoxo!

Thanks, Val. I actually reread Auggie's birth story a couple of weeks ago, and I shared it with Mike.

I hope you and baby #2 are doing well. I think about you often.

More soon!

Val,

Auggie's birth story scared me straight!! Anytime Erica has a hint of a contraction I've got a watch and I time the next one.

Hope all is going swell!
